Let's share your opinion about Universal Design on the basis of politically correct. 1. Politically correct Politically correct used to describe language or behaviour that deliberately tries to avoid offending particular groups of people. Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary には1078年の造語で、prejudice or discrimination based on physical appearance and especially physical believed to fall short of societal notions of beauty (肉体的外見に基づく偏見あるいは差別。 She is an author/a poet. She is a steward/waiter. <ビジネス英会話より引用> 2 Universal Design planning by Hamamatsu City Hall ― http://www.city.hamamatsu.shizuoka.jp ― What is Universal Design? Universal Design means the design of products and environments to be usable by all people. The intent of Universal Design is to simplify life for everyone by making products, communications, and the built environment more usable by as many people as possible at little or no extra cost. Universal Design benefits people of all ages and abilities. Universal Design promotes the barrier free concept further. Little Black Sambo is back The Story of Little Black Sambo returned to stores in April 2005, almost two decades after printing of the children’s book was halted in response to criticism that it portrayed black people in a racist manner. Tokyo-based publisher Zuiunsha said March 3 that it has received many orders from bookstores for the newly revived book, written by British author Helen Bannerman during a trip to India. It was released in Britain in the late 19 th century. It was first issued in Japan in 1953 by Tokyo-based Iwanami Shoten Publishers under the Japanese title Chibikuro Sambo( Little Black Sambo) Plinting of the book was halted in 1988 after Japanese civic groups protested that the word “sambo” was used as a derogatory term in the United against black people. The Japanese read it at bedtime, and they read it at school. And the Dobias drawings were a hit in a country that loves animated characters with garish features, from the futuristic Pokemon crew to the stylized, frightening children draw with ballooning heads by pop artist Yositomo Nara. “We have no experience in dealing with black people,” said psychologist Mori. “Racism against blacks? Where would we get it from?” Quote----The Japan Times Weekly June 25.2005 Let's share your opinion about Universal Design on the basis of politically correct.
